Eczema

While there are many types and causes of eczema, the most basic symptom of this condition is red, itchy skin. It can affect any part of the body and can afflict patients of all ages—though in most cases (depending on the cause or type), it is thankfully temporary. However, eczema is a chronic condition for some patients, due to family history and genetic predisposition.

Fortunately, eczema is very treatable and manageable regardless of cause or type. Certain environmental triggers should be avoided, which include irritating foods, chemicals, and allergens. There are also many effective treatments available.
